Welcome to Garth Hill College
Garth Hill College serves the community of North Bracknell and surrounding areas for pupils aged 11-19. Success has been built upon high standards and expectations. We expect pupils to take responsibility, to work as hard as staff, always try their best, and to reflect upon, and learn from failure and success. We also expect our young people to demonstrate good behaviour, self-discipline and respect. We praise and reward good citizenship, but there are clearly understood sanctions for unacceptable conduct. Garth Hill is a happy and vibrant place of learning.

Pastoral Care
The College’s pastoral structure is organised as a house system. Each of the four main ‘schools’ is also home to one of the College’s four houses. There are four houses: Lawrence, Fielden, Brownlow and Haversham. Each house is made up of two or three tutor groups from each curriculum year, typically 11-12 tutor groups in total.

The students really enjoyed taking part in the quiz and were delighted to have won it for a second consecutive year. The quiz encouraged them to think about the carbon footprint of many different activities and what we can all do in our daily lives to make a difference.
Last year’s prize money was used to establish our beekeeping club, including the purchase of additional protective suits so that more students could take part. This year’s funding will help us continue developing the project while also expanding our eco garden, including the exciting creation of a new nature pond.
We are very grateful for the opportunity to take part and would like to thank the Wellington College Sustainability Council for providing such a wonderful opportunity. 🌱🐝💧 29 Likes
Travelling into London by train from Bracknell, pupils stopped at the Windrush memorial at Waterloo before making their way to the museum. During the visit, they explored the First and Second World War galleries, tried on military uniforms, examined historical archives, and experienced what life was like in the trenches and an Anderson shelter. Pupils also learned more about the Cold War, the Northern Ireland Troubles and the Falklands War.
The day finished with a visit to the gift shop and a picnic lunch in the museum gardens. All pupils behaved impeccably and represented the school brilliantly throughout the trip. Well done to everyone involved! 15 Likes
