Safer Recruitment in Bracknell Forest
As part of the College's commitment to the safeguarding of its pupils, the College ensures that safer recruitment processes are followed rigorously. This includes:
- Ensuring that the post’s job description and person specification explicitly includes the individual’s responsibility for safeguarding.
- Providing information regarding safeguarding policy and practices to applicants. Applicants will be informed of the need to carry out Enhanced DBS checks.
- Ensuring that at least one member of the interview panel has had Safer Recruitment training.
The college will follow an induction process for all new staff that includes all aspects of their responsibility for safeguarding. New staff will be provided with a guide to safer working practice to ensure that they are made aware of expectations both within and outside of the college. All new staff will complete a basic introduction to safeguarding before they start work and then undertake ongoing training as part of their induction programme with an initial level of supervision.
