Sixth Form Courses

Please see below the advanced level courses that the college offers in Years 12 and 13, provided there are sufficient numbers to make teaching groups viable.

A Level Courses normally require grade 6 at GCSE - check with subject leaders for specific requirements.

It is possible to study some subjects to  AS level – this is assessed at the end of year 12 in most cases. 

LEVEL 3 VOCATIONAL COURSES - CLICK TO VIEW

A level 3 vocational course is an equivalent qualification to 1 or more A-Levels. Sometimes referred to as ‘BTECs’ although that is just one of many exam boards.

LEVEL 2 VOCATIONAL COURSES - CLICK TO VIEW

Level 2 – this is a lower tier of qualification and will give the candidate a qualification that is equivalent to GCSE.

Chemistry 

6-6 (Combined) / 6 (Separate). Plus, maths check.

Computer Science 

5 in Computer Science if not studied before 4’s in English (both) & Maths.

English Literature 

6 In English Literature.

Further Maths 

7 in Maths.

Geography 

5 in Geography and 4’s in English & Maths. 

Health & Social Care 

4 in English & Maths.

History 

6 + 6 in English Literature.  

ICT (CTEC) 

4’s in English & Maths. 

Languages 

6 in chosen language.

Law 

6 in English Literature.

Maths 

6 on higher paper. 

Music 

5 or equivalent on performance instrument. 

Media

5 in English (either).

Performing Arts (BTEC) 

4 in Drama or a Pass in Performing Arts. 

Photography 

4’s in English & Maths. 

Physical Education 

6 in PE.

Physics 

6-6 (Combined) / 6 (Separate) + 6 in Maths. 

Politics 

6 in English Literature and 6 in Citizenship. 

Product Design 

6 in D&T: Metals, Timbers, Textiles, Polymers, Systems or Paper & Boards + 5 in English and Maths 

Psychology 

6 in English & Maths.  

Religious Education 

6 in R.S or Citizenship. 

Sociology 

5 in English.

Sport (BTEC) 

4 in GCSE PE or Level 2 Pass in NCFE Health and Fitness.

Travel & Tourism (BTEC) 

4 in English and Maths.
