Support Services for Mental Health and Wellbeing (including bereavement)

We would like to make you aware of some online support services that you can access to help you through the grieving and bereavement process. Sometimes, situations of grief can also bring about other negative feelings. If you feel like you need to talk someone, but not necessarily about grief or bereavement, there are other services that you can access as well.

 

Bracknell Forest Council - Mental Wellbeing for Young People

Bracknell Forest Council’s Public Health Portal offers advice and support can help prevent your concerns from getting worse, help you build strategies and reduce the stigma of coping with mental health problems.

CAMHS

Berkshire CAMHS provides information on mental health problems for young people and their parents.

Kooth - Online Counselling Service

Kooth is an online counselling service that offers free and confidential counselling.  It is available Monday to Friday (12pm-10pm) and Saturday and Sunday (6pm-10pm)

Talking Therapies 

Talking Therapies is a service offered by the NHS for people 17 and older.  Talking Therapies works on a self-referral basis, which means you can refer yourself.  They can offer a variety of levels of support, depending on your needs and preferences.

Youthline provides a FREE, confidential counselling service for young people attending secondary school AND adults who care for and support young people as well as having a range of online resources

Winston's Wish - UK's Childhood Bereavement Charity

Winston's Wish is a charity that offers both a telephone helpline and a texting service. Free online chat that operates from 10am-1pm every Friday.

Telephone: 08088 020 021 (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday).

Texting service (available 24/7 and is free on most mobile networks), just text "WW" to 85258.

 

Cruse Bereavement Care - Dealing with Bereavement and Grief

Cruse Bereavement Care is a charity that offer a variety of support, including face-to-face and over the telephone support. They also offer a "welcome session" where you can go to their office and get more information to help you decide which type of support you may want to access.
