Vapes/E-cigarettes
At the start of a new term, we wanted to reiterate the guidance and information published in the bulletin on 23 November 2023 around the use of vapes, especially by young people. As previously stated, vaping among children and young people is increasing nationally, and local intelligence and feedback suggests that use is also increasing in the borough. Furthermore, we are aware that a number of young people may be using illegal vapes which can contain a number of harmful chemicals, controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act (1971), including tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
An important aspect of the College’s PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education) programme is educating students to keep themselves healthy and students are provided with information and guidance on vaping and e-cigarettes as part of this programme. We would appreciate parental support in this important matter so please see guidance for parents/carers at the link below.
