Standards and Expectations of Behaviour and Dress
As referenced in the last bulletin dated 31 March 2022, we strive for high standards of behaviour, courtesy and self-discipline among pupils and expect them to adopt the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Garth Hill College Pupils. All pupils have been reminded of these expectations in assemblies this past week and will continue to receive regular reminders to reinforce our expectations.
Part of disruption free learning is being ready and equipped to learn - lessons should not be halted by missing equipment. Roll Call continues each morning to support pupils in a positive start to the day. Pupils should present correctly dressed with all their Tools for Learning, a pencil case and a bag suitable for carrying exercise and text books of an A4 size.
If pupils have permission to leave a classroom, they will be given an orange lanyard by the teacher. In an effort to minimise disruption to learning time, we are reviewing the use of ‘time out’ and ‘toilet’ passes. Parents/carers of those pupils affected will be contacted directly.
We have had a several incidents of pupils spraying water pistols and bursting water bombs this week. This has resulted in some pupils getting very wet and missing valuable learning time to get dry. Please note that water pistols are not allowed in College. If pupils are in breach of this they will receive a 30-minute College detention and the item will be confiscated.
