Relationships and Sex Education Policy Consultation
The college is in the process of developing our Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) Policy. This policy will apply from September 2020, in line with requirements from the Department of Education (DfE). As a College, we are required to consult with parent/carers during this process. Therefore, we are seeking your views on the proposed policy.
The new requirements formalise expectations but do not make significant changes to the curriculum we currently we teach our pupils. Many of the topics set out by the DfE are already taught as part of our Personal, Social and Health Education (Citizenship) curriculum and in other subjects.
This consultation has been published on the College website (https://bit.ly/3hE4dXi) and on our social media platforms which will direct you to the website. Parents and carers are invited to share their responses via a parental survey. Please see link below:
The deadline for responses is 10 July 2020. We will consider responses up to this date so that our RSE policy can be published in September 2020 before the start of the academic year.
I would like to thank you at this point for sharing your views on our RSE Policy and look forward to receiving your feedback.
