Performance Review for all PupilsPerformance Review for all pupils – 30 November and 1 December 2020
Our school day is normally condensed during the week of these reviews to allow time for appointments at the beginning and end of the school day. This is not possible this year due to the Covid-19 arrangements that are in place. We would simply not be able to re-arrange the school day to make time for the reviews. After careful consideration, and consultation with the Local Authority and Governors, a decision has been taken to close the school to pupils on Monday 30 November and Tuesday 01 December so that the performance review meetings between tutors and parents/carers can take place remotely. Over these two days, pupils will be expected to learn remotely from home. Work for each lesson will be set via Microsoft Teams. This will provide the opportunity for all parents/carers to meet with their child’s form tutor.
Prior to the meeting you will receive a Performance Review Data Sheet which will provide you with information on your child’s progress, effort and behaviour in each subject. The purpose of the meeting is to evaluate your child’s current progress and to set targets for improvement.
On these two days, we will be able to provide supervision on the school site for children of key workers or where there are exceptional childcare issues. If you are a key worker or have an exceptional circumstance and you require your child to be in school on one or both of these days, please contact the College via email (email@example.com) by the end of Friday 20 November. In the email, please also confirm whether your child would also require lunch service from the College’s Restaurant. This is so we can inform our caterers of the expected pupil numbers for lunch over the two days.
Further information will be provided shortly on how to book your performance review appointment and on the arrangements for your child working remotely from home. Please can I take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for your ongoing support at this unprecedented time.
Please note that year 11 students studying GCSE Food will attend college to sit their practical examination on the morning of Monday 30 November as arranged. Further information will be provided by the Technology department.
