Book Week
Earlier this month, the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) celebrated Book Week with lots of competitions and events running.
As part of the week, we hosted a book ‘Meet and Greet’ after College. Pupils and staff were invited to come browse and borrow the new collection of books and ask any questions they had about the LRC service. We have received some wonderful feedback from both staff and pupils and we are delighted that so many of our new books have been borrowed and reserved already.
The second hand book sale and cake sale raised over £100 towards new Manga and Graphic novels. Special thanks to Alice Turner and Cierra Wimolpatanatham for their wonderful and very tasty bakes.
Thursday 7 March was World Book Day and this year, in addition to handing out a World Book Day token to all pupils, the LRC offered a copy of a World Book Day Book to every year 7 pupil. We still have a few spare copies so please visit the LRC if you are interested.
Congratulations to our Book Cover competition winners Georgie Lewis, Pranish Limbu and Jack Durrant and to our runners up Nicoleta Jentimir, Rachel Lai and Sophia Ibrahim.
Our thanks to the LRC pupil assistants who helped out both before and during the week. Alice Turner, Nithuli Perera, Sobhika Kannapiran, Mudiwa Chimbi, Agnes Grace Reji, Lilly-Mai Stopp, Riley Coady, Harry Singh, Alen Koickal-Tiju, Gunj Thakker and Lucie Savvides.
