Friday 7 November 2025 Young Aviators Terminal 5 Trip On Thursday 6 November, ten students from the GHC Young Aviators Club visited Heathrow Terminal 5 for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go airside. Airside refers to the part of an airport used by aircraft for loading, unloading, take-offs, and landings – a tightly controlled and secure area of the terminal.

Friday 24 October 2025 Year 7 Geography River Trip At the end of last half term, Year 7 geography students visited Rushall Farm to take part in a day of hands-on river fieldwork. During the trip, pupils learned how to measure the width, depth, and speed of flow of a river and investigated how the velocity changes around a meander.

Thursday 16 October 2025 Rise@GHC Football Success at King’s Academy On Tuesday 14 October, Rise@GHC organised a friendly football match at King's Academy. Our former colleague, Mr Cable, was there to welcome us and kindly gave the team a short tour of some of the school's facilities before leading us out onto the astro pitches.

Thursday 16 October 2025 Bee Update - We Have Honey Our bees are thriving and seem much calmer and more settled now. Over the summer, they were visited weekly by one of our beekeepers to check that they were healthy and happy. After a few attempts to harvest the honey, Mrs Draycott was successful — after being very patient while waiting for the last few bees to leave. We then froze the honey so that the pupils could harvest it when they returned to school.

Monday 13 October 2025 Green Power International Finals – Goodwood 2025 For the third year in a row, the Garth Hill Blazers Greenpower Team qualified for the International Grand Finals at Goodwood Motor Circuit. The finals bring together a mix of eighty-five of the fastest cars from across the country, along with international teams from Poland, Belgium, Spain, and Portugal.

During the month of September, students in Year 12 and Year 13 were introduced to a range of careers and enrichment opportunities designed to support their personal development and future pathways.

Tuesday 30 September 2025 Garth Hill at Mock COP 30 – A Voice for Climate Action On Tuesday 30 September, a group of Garth Hill students had the exciting opportunity to attend a Mock COP 30 event at Wellington College. Sixteen countries were represented by delegates from local schools, each given just one minute to present their country's stance on climate change and the impact it is having on their population and environment. Delegates also had to explain what actions their countries are taking to improve the global situation.
