Monday 10 July 2023 Art Exhibition 13-15th July We are very pleased to invite you to this years whole college Art Exhibition at Garth Hill College. This special event will take place across three evenings between 13-15th July (16.00-19.00) in the Sixth form building.The Art team at Garth are extremely proud of all of our students and are looking forward to exhibiting a wide range of Art or Photography from Years 7-13. Full payment is due by Friday 9 June and can be made using the Prom payment on Scopay. Full details of the arrangements will be shared in due course once final payments have been made.

Thursday 11 May 2023 Visit by Local Authority Officers to Citizenship and PSHE On Thursday 20 April, at our request, Mrs Zoe Livingstone (Head of Standards) and Mrs Sharna Denver (Education Safeguarding Team Manager), both from the ‘Learning and Achievement’ education team at Bracknell Forest Council, visited the College to look closely at Citizenship and PSHE education in the school. The visit was a ‘deep dive’ focussing on how Citizenship and PSHE contribute to students’ personal development. They visited lessons and spoke with key stage 3 and 4 students. The visit highlighted many positives including:

Tuesday 9 May 2023 Fundraising for Duchenne UK Congratulations to Mr Worsell for an incredible effort in attempting the Thames Path 100 last Saturday 6th May. Mr Worsell had been suffering from an injury in the run up to this event, but still managed to run over 50km before having to retire injured. Whilst we appreciate his disappointment, I am sure that everyone will join with me in applauding his achievement - an incredible effort. So far over £1000 has been raised thanks to the generosity and support of our community. On behalf of Mr Worsell, thank you so much for all your donations. The link to the Just Giving Page is below:

Thursday 4 May 2023 Allergies Over the past couple of weeks we have been speaking to the pupils in assemblies and in tutor time to highlight the issue of personal allergies within our College community. We have done this to remind all members of our college community of their individual roles and responsibilities in protecting each other.

Wednesday 3 May 2023 The Biology Olympiad 2023 Congratulations to all the sixth form students who took part in the Biology Olympiads this year. Some of the students are pictured below. The students were awarded certificates in recognition of their achievement by Mrs Zullo, Head of Biology.

Wednesday 15 March 2023 Rise@GHC visit Bickerton House Care Home To celebrate a snowy International Women’s Day on Wednesday 8 March, Olly, Zac and Reece spent time with the residents creating greeting cards. Cake, hot chocolate and giggles were enjoyed by all and everyone felt upbeat by the activities offered. We are very much looking forward to our next visit.

Monday 6 March 2023 National Careers Week This week (w/c 6 March 2023) is National Careers Week. It follows on from National Apprenticeship Week last month. In school, our assemblies are based on careers education, different careers pathways open to pupils and local labour market information. The main message is about believing in yourself and taking the opportunity to be the best you can be.
