Community
Garth Hill College is committed to advancing pupils' social, moral, spiritual and cultural development as part of their personal journey to excellence. We promote awareness of the college as a community, and of the individual's responsibility as a member of that community.
We actively create a sense of community within college itself, and with the wider local, national and global community. The word ‘community’ takes on many meanings for our staff and pupils; it can refer to a pupil’s tutor group, House, sports team, or the college as a whole, our engagement with other organisations and learning establishments, as well as our role as citizens in a global world. Through our system of Consistency Management & Cooperative Discipline (CMCD) pupils are encouraged to “be a citizen, and not a tourist.”
Use this section to find out about the enrichment activities taking place in college, our links with companies and local organisations, collaboration with government and non-government agencies as well as fundraising for charities and outreach to primary schools.
