Community Partners
Working together with others in partnership for the benefit of our pupils, students and others is the bedrock of many of our activities - and fundamental to our journey to excellence. Whether it is setting up weekly Youthline counselling in college, learning from industry leaders, organising St John Ambulance training for Year 7 pupils, or benefitting from the knowledge and skills of our parents and carers, partnership is key. The time, support and commitment of the many organsiations and individuals we collaborate with are critical to enable us to deliver outstanding learning.
We have launched a community partnership with Oloyiankalani Secondary School located just outside Nairobi in Kenya. Oloyiankalani is a secondary, mixed boarding school and Garth Hill pupils exchange letters with ‘pen pals’ in Kenya.
In 2016, students from our Sixth Form took part in the first exchange visit to Oloyiankalani School; the visit provided life changing experiences for young peoples at both schools. This visit is helping all our pupils to develop their cultural experience and extend their understanding of issues relating to global citizenship, and wider international issues.
Every year we celebrate the achievements and progress of our young people in a Celebration of Success. On this occasion we welcome vibrant and inspiring speakers to address pupils, their families and friends. Past speakers include: Charlotte Edwards CBE, England Cricket, former Garth Hill College pupil Daniela Relph, BBC Royal Correspondent and Michelle Dewberry, past winner of The Apprentice.
Here are just some of our current partners:
Boehringer Ingelheim, Bosch, Bracknell Forest Council, GE, Kids UK, 3M, St John Ambulance, The Wayz and Youthline.
