Charity
The saying is that ‘charity starts at home’ and that’s exactly what happens at Garth Hill with each of our ‘Houses’ nominating charities to support during the year. Pupils and staff organise fundraising activities which have included Bush Tucker Trials, sponge a teacher, sponsored walks, Race for Life, Walk to School Week, Sportrelief and the ever popular cake sales.
Students leading the College’s Sport Relief fundraising efforts were inspired by a talk and the chance to chat with Oliver (Olly) Cook, Team GB rower. The visit was arranged by Sport Relief as Garth Hill College has been one of its top fundraising schools.
We are very proud that the House and College Councils voted unanimously in 2014 to support our new partnership plans with the Oloyiankalani Secondary School located just outside Nairobi in Kenya. Our fundraising efforts for 2017/2018 will continue to focus on this partnership. Read more….
