Geography is everywhere. There is civil war and a refugee crisis of infinite proportions, HIV continues in its global spread, summer temperatures soared to 22oC in the Arctic, crime in your local area is on the up. Choosing Geography, you get the whole story behind such daily events. You are provided with an opportunity to develop an understanding of the patterns, processes and relationships that characterise human and physical environments. In other words, you get an insight into the world you live in and are part of it is everything that’s happening in your life.

- A pass in GCSE English and Maths
Where can Geography take me?
Geography gives you access to a wide range of possible career and higher education opportunities. Geography combines well with almost all other subjects. Some students choose to use their qualification to go straight into employment. Because A Level Geography develops the transferable and Key Skills that employers are looking for, they can lead to a wide range of employment opportunities. The qualification can also lead to further training in such areas as the law, accountancy and journalism. And because geography is about the interaction between people and our planet, this fascinating subject is valid for a number of different career paths, like advertising, environmental management, conservation, biological sciences or social services.
